Maria Aielli, EdD

Maria Aielli, EdD, is an assistant professor, literacy specialist, and instructional coach at Mount Saint Joseph University's Center for Reading Science in Cincinnati, Ohio. Her focus is on improving student outcomes by supporting the development of teacher knowledge and the implementation of evidence-based practices in schools. Dr. Aielli is passionate about creating and providing equitable access to high-quality instructional materials for all learners, starting in preschool. She is a Preschool Early Literacy Indicators (PELI) mentor and Explicit Instruction mentor. Her work as an instructional coach has provided opportunities to collaborate with educators across the country. Previously, Dr. Aielli worked as a special education teacher in both private and public schools in Ohio and Kentucky.
